Niger Security: Gov. Umaru Bago, AIG Zone 7, CP meet behind closed doors

The closed-door meeting was to establish a positive working relationship

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State on Thursday met with the newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Adebowale Williams, Zone 7 and the state Commissioner of Police, Ayodeji Ogundele to discuss the security situation in the state.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Bologi Ibrahim said the meeting was held behind closed doors at the Niger State Lodge in Abuja.

He however revealed that the meeting was to establish a positive working relationship and discuss matters related to law enforcement priorities, security challenges and other issues pertinent to Niger state.

“The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Governor and the AIG to familiarize themselves with the local enforcement landscape and consequently establish contact with the state government for future coordination and collaboration.” he explained.
